Dedicated Research Centre and Scientists
The Eurofoil Innovation Centre in Belvaux, Luxembourg, together with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), is a world-renowned institution in the field of surface analysis. It houses a core team of Eurofoil scientists and technologists fully dedicated to foil research and has access to a wide range of sophisticated analytical facilities.
 
Range of competences supporting foil innovation
The Eurofoil Innovation Centre has a range of expertise in metallurgy, surface science, rolling and tribology, corrosion, adhesion/coatings, process optimisation and thin film deposition. Below is a brief description of the equipment available along with the area of interest:

Surface Chemistry Analyses:
  • Auger/XPS (X-ray Photoelectron spectroscopy).
  • ToF-SIMS (Time of Flight – Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy).

Electron Microscopy:
  • SEM (Secondary Electron Microscopy).
  • TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy).

Topography Analyses:
  • AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy).
  • Confocal Microscope).

Corrosion Studies:
  • Electrochemical and Corrosion Simulation Equipment.
